4 | How TOTOLINK Router Uses DMZ Host | 2023-08-25 16:12
After setting a computer in the local area network as a DMZ host, it will not be restricted when communicating with the internet. For example, a certain computer is in progress For video conferencing or online games, this computer can be set as a DMZ host to make video conferencing and online games smoother. Additionally, among internet users When accessing LAN resources, the server can also be set as a DMZ host. [Scenario] Suppose you set up an FTP server on the LAN. [Requirement] Open the FTP server to Internet users, so that family members who are not at home can share the resources on the server. [Solution] The above requirements can be realized by setting the "DMZ host" function. Assumptions:
STEP 1: Log in to the wireless router management page In the browser address bar, enter: itoolink.net. Press the Enter key, and if there is a login password, enter the router management interface login password and click "Login". STEP 2 Find the DMZ host under the Advanced Settings NAT menu and turn it on STEP 3 Internet users can successfully access the intranet FTP server by using the 'Intranet Service Application Layer Protocol Name://Current IP Address of the WAN Port'. as The internal network service port is not the default port number, and the access format is "Internal network service application layer protocol name://WAN port current IP address: Internal network service Service Port In this example, the access address is ftp://113.88.154.233 . You can find the current IP address of the router's WAN port in the WAN port information.
Note: 1.After the configuration is completed, if internet users still cannot access the local area network FTP server, it may be due to the system firewall, antivirus software, and other issues on the DMZ host The security guard has blocked internet users from accessing. Please close these programs before attempting again. 2.Before configuration, please ensure that the router WAN port obtains a public IP address. If it is a private IP address or an internal IP address assigned by the network operator (in the order of 100 At the beginning, it will result in the inability to implement the function. The commonly used address categories for IPv4 include Class A, Class B, and Class C. The private network address for Class A address is 10.0.0.0~10.25.255.255; The private network addresses for Class B addresses are 172.16.0.0~172.31.255.255; The private network address for Class C addresses is 192.168.0.0~192.168.255.255. |

5 | How to Set up Remote Web Access on TOTOLINK Wireless Router | 2023-08-30 16:37
Remote WEB management can log in to the router's management interface from a remote location through the Internet, and then manage the router.
STEP 1: Log in to the wireless router management page In the browser address bar, enter: itoolink.net. Press the Enter key, and if there is a login password, enter the router management interface login password and click "Login".
STEP 2: 1. Find advanced settings 2. Click on the service 3. Click on Remote Management and Apply STEP 3: 1. We check the IPV4 address obtained from the WAN port through advanced system status settings 2.You can access the mobile network through your phone, as shown in the figure below, with WAN IP +port number 3. The WAN port IP may change over time. If you want to access remotely through a domain name, you can set up DDNS. For details, please refer to: How to Set DDNS Function on TOTOLINK Router Note: The default web management port of the router is 8081, and remote access must use the "IP address: port" method (such as http;//wan port IP: 8080) to log in to the router and perform web interface management. This feature requires restarting the router to take effect. If the router sets up a virtual server to occupy port 8080, it is necessary to modify the management port to a port other than 8080. It is recommended that the port number be greater than 1024, such as 80008090. |

7 | How to set up an IPV6 internet connection on a TOTOTOLINK wireless router | 2023-08-24 16:14
With the popularization of IPV6 technology, 32-bit IPv4 addresses have been exhausted, and IPv6 uses a 128 bit address length to have a larger address space.
STEP 1: Log in to the wireless router management page In the browser address bar, enter: itoolink.net. Press the Enter key, and if there is a login password, enter the router management interface login password and click "Login". STEP 2: Your ISP should have provided the following information: PPPoE, Dynamic IP (SLAAC/DHCPv6), Pass-Through (Bridge), and Static IP. Go to Advanced >Network> IPv6. STEP 3: Case 1: IPv4 Connection Type is “Dynamic IP” You can choose dynamic IP and apply it here. This situation requires your ISP's support, otherwise dialing will fail. Generally, this type of application scenario is rare Case 2: 1. IPv4 Connection Type is “PPPoE” 2. When the ISP provides IPV4 to use DHCP for internet access, and IPV6 uses PPPoE for dial-up internet access, you can choose Only IPV6 Case 3: There Is A Main Router in Front of Your TOTOLINK Wireless Router 1. Select PassThrough for the Internet Connection Type 2. Click Apply. Case 4: IPv4 Connection Type is “Static IP” 1. Select Static IP. 2. Manually Enter the Information Provided by Your ISP. Note: If you do not know what your internet connection type is, contact your ISP or judge according to the already known information provided by your ISP. 3. Click Apply. STEP 3:Check if IPV6 was successfully obtained 1.You can view the connection status of the router interface IPV6 through advanced settings → home → IPV6 status 2. It can also be achieved through https://www.test-ipv6.com/ Speed measurement IPV6 network |

9 | What to do if the TOTOLINK router cannot access the management page | 2023-08-24 15:36
1: Check wiring connections Ⅰ: Check if the computer is connected to the LAN port of the router. If it is connected to the WAN port, it is necessary to connect the computer to the LAN port of the router; Ⅱ:If you log in to the management interface on your mobile phone, please check if the wireless signal is connected and disconnect your mobile data before attempting to log in again; 2.Check the router indicator light Check if the SYS indicator light of the router is flashing. The normal state is flashing. If it is constantly on or not on, please power off and restart the router, and wait for about half a minute to see if it will flash normally. If it is still constantly on or not on, it indicates that the router is faulty. 3. Check the computer IP address settings Check if the local IP address of the computer is automatically obtained. Please refer to the documentation for the setting method How to configure the computer to automatically obtain an IP address. 4. Enter the login address correctly 5. Replace browser Perhaps the browser is compatible or cached, and you can log in again with another browser 6. Replace the computer or phone to enter the interface If there are no other browsers on the device, you can use another computer or phone to connect to the router and try logging in to the interface. 7. Router reset If you still cannot log in after following the above methods, it is recommended to reset the router and use hardware methods (press the reset button) to reset it. Reset method: When the router is powered on, press and hold the router RESET button for 8-10 seconds (i.e. when all indicator lights are on) before releasing it, and the router will return to its factory settings. (RESET small hole should be pressed with a pointed object such as a pen tip) |

10 | How to use QoS function to limit device network speed | 2023-08-24 15:16
The network bandwidth resources are limited, and some terminal devices such as high-speed downloads and video live streaming will occupy a large amount of bandwidth, leading to other computers experiencing phenomena such as "slow internet access, high network cards, and high game ping values with large fluctuations". The QoS function can limit the maximum uplink and downlink rates of computers, thereby ensuring the rational utilization of the entire network bandwidth resources.
STEP 1: Log in to the router management page In the browser address bar, enter: itoolink.net. Press the Enter key, and if there is a login password, enter the router management interface login password and click "Login". STEP 2: Enable QoS function Find the basic settings as shown in the following figure, locate the QoS switch, and enable it STEP 3:Set total bandwidth STEP 4:Add restricted devices 1. Select the 'Add' option from the rule list below. 2. Click on "Magnifier icon" to display the list of currently connected devices. 3. Select the device you want to limit bandwidth on. (The illustrated items are only examples) 4. Specify the upload and download bandwidth size you want to limit. 5. Click the "Add" button on the right side of the rule to add it. |
